Wedding bells
 

Any one desiring to be married at First United Methodist Church, Jersey Shore, PA must first contact the pastor to see if:

That date is an available wedding date.
The trustee's approve that date.
No other weddings planned on that date.		  
 
Once the above conditions are met, the pastor will arrange an appointment to meet with the bride & groom. NO AGREEMENT TO MARRIAGE WILL BE MADE OVER THE PHONE, this is the purpose of the appointment.
 
If the pastor agrees to marry the couple, the couple will go through counseling, to be determined at the first meeting. The minimum sessions will be three. All counseling shall completed at least two weeks before the wedding or the pastor will not perform the wedding.
 
The expectation of the Church to couple in regard to the wedding.
1) A Christian Wedding is an act of Worship. The couple will be expected to be an active part of the congregation. The activities while on Church property will reflect the highest Christian behavior. The Bride, Groom, Wedding Party and Guests will conduct themselves in a Christian manner. There will be no Drinking, Smoking, Chewing Tobacco, Foul Language, or any other inappropriate behavior on Church property, including courtyard and parking lot.

The Wedding Party must come to worship sober and free of narcotic influences. IF the PASTOR even SUSPECTS ANY of the Wedding Party to be UNDER THE INFLUENCE of ANY DRUG (including ALCOHOL), there will be NO wedding and the money will NOT return. The PASTOR will have FINAL say. 
3) No flash photography will be allowed during the worship service.
Camcorders are allowed, but are to be at a distance away from the ceremony

All dressing rooms will be cleaned up and no rice shall be thrown.
If rice is thrown, it will be an extra $100.00 billed to the Bride and Groom, birdseed is all right.

It is the expectation of the Church, that the Bride and Groom will clearly communicate this to all the family and guests at the wedding.
