We the people of the First United Methodist Church are a congregation who yearn for God and seek healing and spiritual life through Jesus Christ,in order to be united in trust and mission. We as a congregation yearn for God, we recognize that others yearn with us, and we will reach new people with the Gospel of Christ and the Love of Christ. We equip our pastor and laity for the unabashed pursuit of effective ministry. The First United Methodist Church of Westfield sees a well-rounded picture of the church. A canon for measurement of our church's activity today is in Acts 2: 36-42. Like the first Christian community in Acts 2, we devote ourselves to the apostles' teaching; we have a lasting fellowship; we engage in breaking the bread in communion with Jesus Christ, and we pray for all people in the world.
