DEVOTION FROM LYNAE
As August is Hospitality Month, I want to share with you a way that you can share your faith with the suggestions from this article.
THE VALUE OF A SMILE
* A smile is nature's best antidote for discouragement.
* It brings rest to the weary,
* Sunshine to those who are frowning,
* And hope to those who are hopeless and defeated.
* A smile is so valuable that it can't be bought, begged,
borrowed, or taken away against your will.
* You have to be willing to give a smile away, before it can do
anyone else any good.
* So, if someone is too tired or grumpy to flash you a smile,
let him have one of yours anyway.
* Nobody needs a smile as much, as the person who has none
to give....
* Smile your smile for today...Pass it on to someone...Who
needs some sunshine on a cloudy day...
* Remember, no matter how bad it seems at the time,
it shall pass in a few moments, and.....
* A smile is simply a frown upside down...
* So, stand on your head and look in the mirror...
* Once you see how silly you look...a frown turns into
a SMILE....

SINGING OPPORTUNITY
It's that time again, and the Chancel Choir will be starting up again. We'll have our first practice on Wednesday, August 29th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. We're going to be doing some new music. Both Josh and I have ordered some new songs and arrangements that will be sure to please and challenge. As always, we are open to new or return members. I'd love to have 20 or so regular members. While we've had that number, it's difficult to get everyone there at once. Hopefully, we can grow a bit this year. Many people have said that they've thought about getting involved with the choir, but they do not show up. This is a most rewarding way to serve the Lord and the church. Please consider joining us so that we can make glorious music together! Look forward to seeing you on the 29th.
Rich McKinney
