NEWS FROM FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, KIRKSVILLE
December 14, 2006
DEVOTION FROM REV. JIM
Our Advent word for the week is "Way". Our thoughts can be focused on how it is that God provides the "way" in Christ; the way of truth, forgiveness, to wholeness ("happiness"), of Righteousness ("rightness"), the path, the direction, and the life.
As we scan the newspapers and do some personal observation and reflection we probably will note a need for the "way". People (all of us) are in need of the "way", have lost their "way", and are vulnerable to the alternative ways being presented and promoted.
John the Baptist prepared the world for the way! You and I are invited to do so in our day, and to celebrate the new way to be revealed to us by the Christ and make fresh commitments to follow daily!
See ya' Sunday as we continue the preparation with the Children' Christmas Musical!
Love in Christ,
Rev. Jim
