BAPTISM OF THE LORD SUNDAY

As we celebrate our Lord's Baptism on Sunday, January 13th, we will be remembering our own Baptisms. If you have not been baptized, you are encouraged to talk with Rev. Jim about the possibility of that happening on this special Sunday.

UPCOMING EVENTS THIS WEEK

Sunday, January 13th - At 9:30 a.m. there will be an organizational meeting for all of those interested in participating in and helping with the Youth Dinner Theatre including parents.

Monday, January 14th - 5:30 p.m. Administrative Council Committees Joint Meeting in Fellowship Hall - All new and returning Administrative Council and Committee Members will be meeting for orientation and training for the new year. A list of Church Leaders will be in the Sunday bulletin.

Young Women's Bible Study will meet on Monday, January 14th, at 6:00 p.m.

Kirksville Community Chorus will begin again on Monday, January 14th and meet in the Sanctuary at 7:00 p.m.

50+ Luncheon will be on Thursday, January 17th at 12 noon in Room 202. Dr. Richard Weerts will give the program about John Philip Sousa.

KID'S Night Out will be on Friday, January 18th, from 5:30-8:00 p.m.

Congratulations to Loyd and Dorothy Welte on the birth of a new great grandson , Kaleb Andrew Welte, born January 2nd.

Congratulations to Andy and Tara Cordray on the birth of their daughter, Ruby Ann, on January 8th. Proud grandparents are Fred and Cindy Cordray. Proud Uncle, Aunt, and Cousins are Jeremy, Nicole, Ashton,and Peyton Cordray.

Congratulations to Drew Zimmer on his promotion to Director of Pharmacy at Northeast Regional Medical Center. He and his wife, Rebecca (Head) Zimmer and their daughters, Annabel and Audrey reside in Kirksville. He is the son of former members, Dan and Roberta Zimmer of Princeton, son-in-law of Janet Head and Michael French and grandson-in-law of Eunice Streeter.

Congratulations to Ben Bowen who was chosen by the Kirksville Daily Express as Wrestler of the Week. He had his 100th victory in his high school career.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

This year we are using the "Hands On Bible" curriculum. Kids need to learn the truth to live it-HANDS on BIBLE takes kids right into the Bible. DON'T LET YOUR CHILD/REN MISS THIS! Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.


CLUB 316 will continue on Wednesday, January 16, at 3:00 p.m.

KID'S Night Out will be on Friday, January 18th, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. This is for all Children ages 6 weeks-5th grade.

HORIZON YOUTH

9:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday School for Sr. High and Mid High every Sunday.

"On the Horizon" Praise Band Practice will begin again on Sunday, January 6th, at 6:00 p.m. Horizon Youth Night will be from 7-8:30 p.m. that night.

Sunday, January 13th, the Senior High will go on a Mystery Trip during the Horizon Youth Night time-7-8:30 p.m.

ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCIL/COMMITTEES MEETING

The Joint Administrative Council/Committees meeting will be held on Monday, January 14th, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. This is the meeting where new Administrative Council and Committee members will receive orientation and training. The general meeting will begin by 5:50 p.m. The Committees will meet beginning at 7:10 p.m.


A listing of all Administrative Council and committees will be available on Sunday, January 13th.

REMEMBER THIS IS FOR ALL NEW AND RETURNING MEMBERS OF ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCIL AND ALL NEW AND RETURNING MEMBERS OF EACH COMMITTEE!

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

Young Women’s Bible Study groups will meet this month. There is a group meeting on the 1st and 3rd Mondays at 6:00 p.m. and a group meeting on 2nd and 4th Mondays at 6:00 p.m. They are continuing their study of the book, “The Case for Faith”. Talk with Teri Heckert or Chrissie Treasure for more information.

Saturday Morning Bible Study will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 12th, at the home of Sharon Tiff.

College-Age Women's Bible Study "Team Awesome" will begin meeting again on Tuesday, January 15th, at 9 p.m.

EMPTY NESTERS

This group is composed of couples who do not have children living at home and meet together for food and fellowship. They will meet at the home of Ed and Sharon Tiff on Sunday, January 13th, at 5:30 p.m. Call Sharon for more information.

 

50+ LUNCHEON

The next meeting will be on Thursday, January 17th at noon in Room 202. Dr. Richard Weerts will give the program on John Philip Sousa. Those attending are asked to bring a dish or two to share. Table services and drinks will be provided.

UNITED METHODIST MEN will meet on Monday, January 21st, at 12 noon at the Ponderosa Restaurant. More information later.

Church Offices will be closed on Monday, January 21st.
