First United Methodist
Youth Ministry’s purpose is to reach non-believing
students and connect them to believing students in a non-threatening
way so that we may grow together in relationship with
the Lord to discover His desire for us in this world so
that we may honor our Lord Jesus Christ with our lives.
FOCUS ON YOUTH
WHAT'S UP WITH YOUTH IN SEPTEMBER
Well here it is November already. As we prepare for the Holiday Season
to celebrate the coming of our Lord I want to thank everyone for all
your prayers and support. We would like to invite all that have supported
us in the past year to join us on November 18th for a Thank You luncheon
and Mission Presentation. We really appreciate all our church family
does for us; if it weren't for you we would not be able to show the
love of God through missions.
See you at the Pole. A youth led nationwide morning of prayer was fantastic
this year. Our youth from Middle and High schools participated as well
as Pastor Frank. At Pinellas Park High School they have even decided
to meet the last Wednesday of each month before school to pray. It is
a real blessing to see youth committed to Christ and prayer.
Our fall is looking real busy first we have the Fall Festival on November
3rd. The youth will be renting spaces for Craft or Flea market sales.
We will also have lunch and snacks available for a reasonable price.
If you are interested in helping out please call the church office or
Cheryl or I. Sunday the 4th will be our monthly Brunch to help support
our Winter Retreat at Lake Junaluska in North Carolina. This month we
will feature Waffles along with the regular menu.
We will also be preparing items for out traditional Christmas Silent
Auction. If you have any baskets you would like to recycle please bring
them in.
The youth praise team and actors are preparing a special presentation.
They are also preparing to assist in the Holiday services.
This years Winter Retreat will be to Methodist Retreat center in Lake
Junaluska, North Carolina. We will enjoy great speakers and praise &
worship as well as snow tubing and a day of skiing. The cost of this
trip is $300 a person. If anyone
is interested in joining us please let me know. I will be making our
final reservations by October 29th I do have a few youth that really
want to go on this trip and either need sponsorship or jobs to do. We
will be having a few fundraisers and if you need any work done please
