DeLeon's Baptist Church had its beginnings in 1877 under an oak tree in the community of Victor. The Baptist group moved to town in 1882. But there continued to be a Methodist group there.
Rev. E. F. Boone organized the first recorded members. They were Mollie Parker, John, Jennie, and Rhoda McGowan, Joseph and Florence Whorton, Bell Smith, and Rufus and Effie Carr.
A flourishing little community evolved there, with a general store, blacksmith shop, tabernacle, cemetery, and both a Methodist and a Baptist church.
Subsequent pastors were:

The records have been lost detailing when the church closed. However, as late as 1962, a quarterly conference report was made from this group. Nothing remains there now except the well-kept cemetery and a new tabernacle built by the Cemetery Association.
