Just one year after the DeLeon Methodists organized, Rev. M.O. Coker organized the New Hope Methodist Church, which became another "preaching station" along with the DeLeon group. Charter Members were: (1877) Emily and Berle Heath, John M. Haley, James and Florence Terry, Susan Holland, Daniel and Rosa Holland.
No records document when the church was built, but a tabernacle and a schoolhouse called "Sabano School" along with a white frame church became a little community that was so important to those early pioneer families. Over the years, 1882-1939, the following men pastored this church:
