You and Me
From the Pen of Rev. Stephen Creech

Have you ever noticed when you are attending a youth sporting event there are always children not involved in the game hanging around the park? Sometimes those kids just want to be a part of the game. If they were asked to play, they would be the happiest children on the earth! So, imagine that the coach goes over to one of the boys ad announces he needs a catcher. He asks them if they want to play. But their response is not what you expect. They want to play, but they don't want to be a catcher. They want to pitch! So, they answer back, "No."

This same scenario could apply to the people of the church. There are those who attend church, and wait around "to be asked" to participate and then complain because no one does. When they are asked, they decline, because it is not what they wanted to do.

First, I believe if there is work in the church that you want to do, you should not wait to be asked. We're talking about loving and pleasing God and to God be the glory of ALL things we do for Him!

Second, if you are asked, then you should be glad and serve with a glad heart in whatever way you can.

Third, don't complain! God doesn't like it and neither does anyone else! God has a place for you and work for you to do. If you decline, then it's your fault and no one else's.

Jesus is counting on you and so is the church! Come and join us! You might find something you really like and you might even find a blessing!

Stephen

Prayer Concerns and Joys
If you would like to have someone added to our prayer list in the church bulletin, please write the name of the person, the person making the request, and the specific prayer need on the prayer request cards located in the pews. Then place your card in the offering plate, and it will be given to the Pastor, and the name added to the list in the bulletin. (Please make sure that a family member gives permission for the name to be added to the prayer list.)
