Our Mission is to
spread the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord and to live our lives as a shining
example.
We will do this
by all means at our disposal some of which are:
1. Direct
instruction through our Church service, Sunday school, and bible study groups.
2. Through
various organizations, which promote Christian Fellowship.
3. Through
support of Christian missions both local and distant.
4. Through
dissemination of Christian information by evangelism and personal contact.
We are a busy and
active church with an experienced pastor of 25 years of ministry appointed to
serve here by the Bishop of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist
Church. We have about 300 members of which on the average (75) attend church
each Sunday at two services.
There are
approximately 40 members of various Sunday school classes.
Our Church
sanctuary can seat approximately 300 people.

We sponsor Sunday school, nursery during church, scouts, cubs and
youth fellowship groups. Our children participate in pageants. They go on supervised
camping trips to Methodist camps. They hold activities in the church social
hall.
Our adults attend Church, Sunday school classes or Adult
Discussion groups and belong to bible study groups. The women belong to
circles, which meet once a month to socialize, eat and discuss religious and
current topics. Our adults belong to social fellowship groups that plan events
like going to the shore, going out to dinner, bowling, and fund raising for
good causes. They put on plays with the children. Every year we produce a
Christmas show, which is based on popular Christmas or show tunes with
rewritten words to spoof the members of the church fellowship or current
trends. This has become a highlight on our early December calendar.
Our adults and youth have traveled to Appalachia and North
Carolina in recent years to serve on mission trips that focus on rehab-ing and
repairing of homes damaged by flood waters. Year 2001 mission trip helped
repair flood damage to the Mt. Zion primitive Baptist Church in Princeville,
North Carolina. Eleven youth and adults were on the trip. Year 2002 mission trip helped rebuild a
flood damaged home in Whiteville, North Carolina. Seven youth and adults participated for one week.
We help support missionaries, the Terhune family in
Japan and the Pahutski family in Yemen.
We collected 150 cans of soup on “Souper Sunday” for
distribution to the needy.
We regularly collect canned and dry food for the
Frankford Mission.
We collected $445 for UMCOR for humanitarian use in
Iraq.
We donated clothing and other items left over from
our flea market sale to the Appalachia mission.
We set aside a portion of our money for general missionary work performed thru the United Methodist Church.
We have a motorized chair lift so that a person can go from street
level to the church sanctuary level without having to negotiate steps. We have
"Large Print" Hymnals for those that need them. There is
available for the church services a wireless PA system with personalized
receivers for the hard of hearing.
Our music program is outstanding for a church this size. We have a
singing choir and a bell choir. There is an organ, a music synthesizer,
and a piano in the church sanctuary. All three are used extensively. Our
Christmas Eve service has been routinely filled to the capacity limit of 300
people. The Easter service is well attended and is topped off with the
singing of the Hallelujah chorus.
Our church recognizes and supports other groups, which present a
positive presence for the good of the community. We recognize and cooperate
with other Christian denominations. We sponsor scouts and cubs. We sponsor an
independent Christian day school, which uses our facilities.
----------------------------------------
Our pastor is a member of the Fox Chase - Rockledge ministerium.
This is an organization that promotes an organized endeavor to common problems
and interests of the Protestant and Catholic congregations of the community. A
couple times a year the pastors and priests exchange pulpits for a day and
bring an ecumenical message.
As you can see we are quite active. This takes a lot of people
offering their gifts and skills unselfishly. Come visit us and reap the
many benefits of our activities and service to Christ, both for your self and
for your family. If you feel comfortable, stay with us and bless us with your
gifts, service and presence.
