Food Collection

Every Sunday

It was decided by the Administrative Council that food brought to the church on the 3rd Sunday of month will be given to Project Hope. Project hope provides a free soup kitchen at First Lutheran church on George St, Thursday evenings fro 6:15-7:15. They also provide a small bag of groceries to each family attending whenever possible. Anywhere from 40 to 70 people are served each week.   On the other Sundays, food is given to WHEAT, the West Haven Emergency Assistance Task Force on Washington Ave. in West Haven.  Please help by bringing in non-perishable items. Many times local stores have “buy one, get one free”. Even if you can’t use two of something, please remember this minister to others in our community
