Missions

The purpose of our missions is to serve the Lord through participation in outreach ministries.

    The LIGHTHOUSE OF HOPE is an independent non-profit neighborhood

    mission that focuses on the children in one of the roughest areas of

    Akron, most coming from underprivileged and broken homes.  The

    Lighthouse provides nutritious meals 4 – 5 nights a week, along with

    programs that help them to focus on schoolwork and their futures.  The

    Lighthouse also provides a drug-free, safe atmosphere where children

    can grow and care for each other.  There are currently 250 children

    served by this mission. 

    THISTLEDOWN RACETRACK CHAPLAINCY OF AMERICA seeks to bring the Word of

    God and His teachings to the people of the racetracks and the horseman's

    association in order to bring them to God. This program includes

    helping meet the religious needs of all employees, regardless of race,

    creed or language. These Chaplains also meet personal, social and

    human needs of the employees in the stable area. 

   SHOWERS FAMILY CENTER FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER AND BLOOD DISORDERS

   AT AKRON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL 

   To prevent infection, toys and animals MUST be brand new. Handmade items and toys MUST be free for pet hair and

    order/fragrances. Many of the patients have severe allergies
