WE  CARE WE SHARE WE LOVE

HISTORY

On January 1, 1970, Faith Church was "born" from  the merger of three congregations; Auburn Park, Ogden Park, and Normal Park United Methodist Churches.  As those churches joined to form Faith Church, there was a vision that a larger Christian group would be better able to witness and serve in the community. Thirty-three years later, the original vision of the three congregations and the guidance of God's Spirit has enabled Faith Church to not only survive, but also to thrive.  We continue to experience our God as  one of hope and liberation!  Just as three congregations became one through the love of God, we work to make our community one through the three manifestations of God–Father–Son-Holy Spirit.

The pastor and members of Faith United Methodist Church believe and affirm our mission is that of showing the love of Christ to the community, the nation and the world.  We will accomplish this through personal and collective witness, through vibrant service and worship and through concern for all people. Our church is to be a refuge for the poor, the oppressed, and others who desire a Christian home.  We strive to show more love towards one another as well as towards persons in the broader community.  We will  care and share through worship, outreach  and spiritual development.
