ANDERSEN ACADEMY

Andersen Academy Indianapolis opened its doors for the first time right here in Faith United Methodist Church in February 1993. We began with only two students, and one of those students was former Paster Douglas Simpson's son. (Pastor Simpson has been back to see the Academy since leaving the Faith family to inform us that Ethan (his son) is doing very well in his elementary school environment.)
We have been allowed to grow considerably here at Faith with our current enrollment at 24 students. We have always appreciated the support of the Church members and trustees and have always made our best effort at reciprocation that support.
Our Montessori based educational program has designed a nondiscriminatory learning environment, where our students are offered hands-on concrete learning activities that can be self-directed and self-correcting.
It is our goal that our students will reach a state of internal peace and harmony that allows them to be self-driven with regards to their own educational goals. Most of our students who graduate from our Kindergarten are reading, writing, and doing arithmetic well beyond a first grade level. With this kind of a head start, their first three years of elementary school should prove to be very successful years.
If anyone has any questions regarding our program, please feel free to contact Jill Lambert at the school office. You are always welcome to come and observe the program in action. We usually ask for visitation between 9 and 11 am to see the Montessori School work. Stop in and see us.
