    The Halloween Party 2001

    5pm - 7pm> 

    There will be a costume parade, games and prizes, food, movies and the Fun House!
    Anyone who did not want to go through the Fun House could go directly to the games & food!

    Silent Sunday
    February 18, 2001
    Starting at 12 noon and lasting until 10pm
    The Emmanuel UMYF will be SILENT for 10 hours!
    Or Will They?
    Pledges are being accepted for each hour the youth can be silent on Sunday, February 18th.  Pledges are accepted by the hour or for the whole 10-hour time period.  If the youth make a noise, he/she is required to "feed" the coin jar.  The penalty fee will go up every hour.  Can they do it? 
    Activities planned for the 10-hours are:
    • Reading a book
    • Doing Homework
    • Listening to music through earphones
    • Watching "Silent Movie" by Mel Brooks
    • Learning to sign the "The Lord's Prayer"
    Money raised on this Silent Sunday will go to the mission fund. 
    At 10pm, the UMYF will be able to speak and make noise, and they will begin a lock-in at the church.   To sponsor a youth, please contact the church office at (301) 937-7114.
