West Ohio Conference Resources

The Annual Conference is the primary organizational entity of The United Methodist Church.  In Ohio there are two such Conferences -- the West Ohio Annual Conference and the East Ohio Annual Conference.  The geographic dividing line between the two runs diagonally northwest-southeast from just east of Toledo through just north of Columbus, and on through southeast Ohio.

Englewood United Methodist Church is part of the West Ohio Annual Conference.  The web site of the West Ohio Annual Conference contains much more information (and many resources and links), and can be found by clicking here.  You may also access directly the West Ohio contact information pages for General United Methodist Agencies, for health care and welfare facilities, for colleges and universities, for campus ministries, for seminaries, or for the Walk to Emmaus (a short but intensive course for spiritual renewal and education in the basics of Christianity).

District Resources

The West Ohio Annual Conference, like other Annual Conferences, is divided into districts to help organize ministry and administration.  Until recently, the West Ohio Annual Conference was divided into fourteen districts, with Englewood United Methodist Church being part of the Dayton North District.

The West Ohio Conference is now, however, in the process of reorganizing into eight districts, and Englewood United Methodist Church will be part of the new Miami Valley District.  The new districts, like the old ones, should soon have information and resources available online; but at present they do not have web sites constructed.

General United Methodist Resources

This section will include references to the General Board of Global Ministries, the General Board of Discipleship and other general agencies, as well as to resources available through umc.org, the web site of The United Methodist Church.

This section may include references to local resources such as Dayton Church Supply and St. Mark Bookstore, and various unofficial resources.  Subject to licensing permission, various translations of the Bible may be made available here.
