Announcements
Hear ye! Hear ye! Here are the more important headline announcements
and news bites you need to be reasonably well-informed and participate fully in
the life, growth and fellowship of Englewood United Methodist Church. For
some of these announcements, you can find additional information on the
calendar and events page, in the
newsletters, or elsewhere in this
website, especially the pages relating to growth and
service.
-
BULLETIN/NEWSLETTER DEADLINES: Announcements and items to be
included in the worship bulletin or video projections for each Sunday must
be received in the church office by noon on the preceding Wednesday. Articles
and items for the newsletter must be received in the church office by noon
on the
19th day of each month for the following month's newsletter. In either
case, you can leave your announcements, articles or other items in the
appropriate box in the church office, email them to the church office at
eumcsec@verizon.net, or send them by
ordinary mail.
-
BANNERS, BANNERS, BANNERS! In recent worship surveys, ten or
more people volunteered to help make banners. Please
contact Judy Huebner by email or at by telephone at 836-4634 if you can
help. Judy has been planning worship banners for quite some time and
is eager to get started.
-
HELP US "FLOWER": We are looking for a few people to "adopt a
bed"! A flower bed, that is. There is a diagram of the flower
beds and a sign-up sheet on the table inside the west lobby doors. If
you like working outside and want to help beautify the grounds around our
church, please consider taking care of one of our flower beds. If you
have any questions, please contact one of our trustees, or
send an email to the trustees.
-
FOOD PANTRY: Our Englewood United Methodist Church food pantry
needs restocking. Your donations will directly help some of our hungry
brothers and sisters right here in Englewood. So that we don't all
choose to donate the same items, please consider donating those items listed
opposite the letters with which your last name begins:
| A - E: |
Spaghetti or boxed potatoes |
| F - I: |
Jello, peas, canned meat (not tuna) |
| J - M: |
Canned fruit or jelly |
| N - S: |
Spaghetti sauce or rice |
| T - Z: |
Liquid dish soap, laundry soap, bath soap |
-
SMALL GROUPS: If you would be interested in becoming part of a
newly formed small group, or would like to learn more about our small
groups, please
contact Kathy Jackson. Bible study, prayer, fellowship and service
are all part of each small group. Leadership of the group is usually
shared by group members; and it is our intention that each small group would
grow over time and divide to form more small groups.
-
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL:
-
New Class: Several people have expressed interest in
starting a new group that will explore a variety of topics, with topics
changing each month. If you have comments or suggestions, want
more details, or would like to express interest in possible
participation, please
contact Kathy Jackson.
-
CHILDREN'S CHURCH: We need a few people to help with our
Children's Church program. As this program grows, so does the need for
volunteers. If you would be willing to help, even just to supervise
the children, please contact us. Children's Church is available
during our Primary Worship Celebration for children age 4 years through Third
Grade. Children in Fourth Grade and older generally stay to worship with
their families, so that they can be fully included in the congregation and the
traditions of the church as the Body of Christ. In addition to Children's Church,
child care is available for children age 3 years and younger.
-
AUDIO-VISUAL MINISTRY: We also need volunteers to help with the
Audio-Visual Team. If you would be willing to help with the audio
portion, please
contact Jim Witters by email. If you would rather help with the
video portion, please
contact Rich Solo by email. If you prefer to contact them by
telephone, please call the church office at 937-836-5361.
-
HEALTH CARE MINISTRIES: We need a leader for our Health Care
Ministries. If you feel that you could organize three to four special
events per year, please prayerfully consider this opportunity for service.
If you need more information or would like to help, please
contact Beverly Jenkins.
-
HELP YOUR CHURCH WITH KROGER NEIGHBORHOOD REWARDS: Use your
Kroger Neighborhood Rewards card regularly. We receive 4% of the card
reloads, and the money earned from this program goes into our general fund.
The card can be used for groceries, pharmacy, and gas. This is an easy
way to help increase our congregation's income. To get your card, or
if you have any questions, please
email Larry Huebner, or call him at 937-836-4634.
