The Celebration Continues

Last week was our official 60th Anniversary Celebration at Trinity, but the party is far from over!

November is promising to be a month full of memories, culminating with the unveiling of our gorgeous new stained glass window!  Each Sunday in November, we will celebrate a special group of Trinity folks:

·          November 2 - We will honor Trinity’s saints for the past 60 years.

·          November 9 - We will celebrate those who were baptized and confirmed at Trinity.

·          November 16 - It’s reunion time, as we invite back former Youth Group members and leaders!  Come back to Trinity that evening to share a meal with your church family at our annual Harvest Dinner.

·          November 23 - We will have a wedding reception for everyone who was married at Trinity.

·          November 24 - Diamonds are Forever...and so is Trinity!  Join us as we celebrate our Annual Charge Conference.  As members, you have a vote in items such as new lay leadership and Pastor’s salary.

In December, our anniversary celebrations wrap up with three more very special events, as the UMW Anniversary Cookbook is published, we receive our long-awaited Anniversary Yearbook Directories, and we create a Trinity Time Capsule.

You won’t want to miss a single Sunday this fall and winter, as we celebrate our past and look forward to a bright future!

Welcome Bob Hartsock!

We are very pleased to welcome Bob Hartsock to the Trinity pulpit!  Bob is a certified Lay Speaker and an active member of Sweet Home UMC.

Bob has worked as a teacher and an attorney.  He lived in Guam for many years and was a charter member of the Guam United Methodist Church.

Be sure to thank Bob for sharing his story today!

Text Box: It Takes a Whole Root System to Grow a Tree!
Stewarship Campaign begins next Sunday!
Join us Sundays, October 19 and 26, as we learn about and share our roots and our grounding!  Trinity folks will share up close and personal, and give some practical hints of how to support our church in these challenging times.
On Sunday Oct. 26, we will eat, fellowship, and learn the wonderful dynamics of the stewardship root system. Our free lunch will be prepared by our Boy Scout Troop, so let's support them!

Chorale Extravaganza Set  For October 19

Join Trinity’s choir for an afternoon of music!  The annual Chorale  Extravaganza is set for Sunday,  October 19, at 3:30 pm.

The Extravaganza will be held, as always, at First United Methodist Church, just off 13th and   Charnelton Streets in downtown Eugene.  Funds raised by the free-will offering will benefit the University of Oregon’s Wesley Center.

Questions?  Contact the church    office at 688-3269.

We Need Candy!

Please donate bagged, individually wrapped candy items to the church’s annual Fall-o-ween Carnival.  Carnival proceeds support Trinity’s Youth Group.   Thank you for supporting our children and youth!

Labyrinth Corner

Where all of your labyrinth questions are answered!

Question:  Okay, I’m ready to purchase a brick...but how do I do it?  And what should it say?

Answer:   Bricks come in two sizes.  The smaller brick is $100 and holds up to 3 lines of text.  The larger brick is $200 and holds up to 5 lines of text.

Brick order forms are available in the Fellowship Hall, on the table closest to the windows overlooking the courtyard.  If you need help filling out a form, please contact the church office and we will be happy to assist you!

The yellow cards on the east wall of the Sanctuary have folks’ brick inscriptions written on them.  You can use these cards for inspiration to create your own personalized brick.  Remember, there really is no wrong way to inscribe your brick!

Buy a Treat and Support a Camper!

In 2008, Trinity folks have very generously supported our Women’s Retreat fundraising through our monthly bake sales.  To date, the women have raised nearly $725 to defray retreat costs!

The women would like to give back!  Over the next several months, we will donate the proceeds from our sales to support other entities within our church family.  Today’s bake sale proceeds will support summer camp scholarships.  Please purchase a baked treat and help Trinity’s children and youth attend a United Methodist camp this summer.  We appreciate your donations!

Evening Fellowship for Women!

Are you a woman of Trinity interested in getting together with your fellow Trinity women?  Do you have daytime obligations that prevent you from attending one of our two daytime  UMW Circles?  If so, we have the solution for you!

Trinity’s United Methodist Women, or UMW, are exploring the possibility of creating an Evening Circle.  This group would meet at the church once a month to share fellowship and a light snack.

The members of an individual circle group determine the program and logistics of the meetings.  After we assess who is interested, the group will choose topics that are relevant to its members.

If you would like to know more about this, please attend a short informational meeting after church today, in the Fireside Room.

Recipes Wanted!

We are compiling a 60th Anniversary Recipe Book and need your help!

We are hoping to collect a variety  of recipes for our book, including soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

Submit your favorite recipe in the basket in the Fellowship Hall, by     e-mail to eugenetrinity@yahoo.com, or by mail to Lois Proudfit, 1331 Dalton Drive, Eugene, 97404.  Thank you!
