Fishes and Loaves

Fishes and Loaves is a food pantry sponsored by the church
with a simple mission:  "We are here to provide food to
people who are hungry."  The food pantry has been open since
October of 2004.  Recipients of food are required to provide
their name, address, and phone number.  Fishes and Loaves
gets food from a variety of sources:  Private Gorcers,
Individuals donating foods, and from Manna Food Bank in
Asheville.  The food pantry is open every Saturday, from
10:00 - noon.    Volunteer opportunities include staffing
the pantry on Saturday mornings, shopping for food, and
putting away groceries (stocking) the food pantry when
donations come in.  Saturday morning workers should be at
the church by 9:30 am to prepare for the pantry openning.
Volunteer training is provided and one can call the church
office to schedule a training appointment.
