Project 6:15

Redeveloping the church through spiritual & strategic initiative.

Inspired by Nehemiah 6:15

What is Project 6:15?  Project 6:15 is a two-year pilot project in Church Redevelopment that will involve over one hundred churches nationwide.  These churches will be guided through a holistic process in Church ReDevelopment that will include assessing, training, coaching and documenting under the supervision of project director, Dr. Ken Priddy, president of United Front Ministries and director of training for the Church Multiplication Training Center .

What are the objectives?  Project 6:15 will combine spiritual renewal with strategic initiative to reach five primary objectives:

1) To understand the general dynamics that lead a church into decline

2) To develop a realistic diagnosis of a church’s current ministry and its future ministry potential

3) To develop and implement a realistic strategic plan to move a church toward its desired future

4) To establish a culture of ReDevelopment in a church

5) to document a church’s progress throughout the two-year process to measure effectiveness

When and where will Project 6:15 be conducted?  The first generation of the project 6:15 will launch in January 2003 and conclude in January 2005.  Sites for training and coaching clusters will be determined by concentration of the churches that participate.  Early indications suggest sites in Michigan and Pennsylvania .  Other likely sites include Baltimore , central Virginia , Raleigh/Charlotte, northern and/or southern California , Atlanta/Orlando, Ft. Wayne/Indianapolis, Dallas and Denver .  Any city is possible with a concentration of churches.

What assessment tools will be used?  Project 6:15 will conduct two assessments with each church, one at the beginning of the two-year process and one at the end.  Four assessment tools will be utilized with each assessment including the Natural Church Development Survey, the Church ReDevelopment Questionnaire, the Church ReDevelopment Distinctive Characteristics Survey, and the Worship Service Video.  A comparison between the two assessments will measure growth during the two-year process.

What training materials will be used?  Training materials used in Project 6:15 center on eight ReDevelopment training modules developed by Ken Priddy.  They include 1) Lifecycles, 2) the Vision-Lifecycle Connection, 3) Diagnosis, 4) The Phases of ReDevelopment, 5) ReVision, 6) Ministry Development, 7)  Challenges to ReDevelopment and 8) the ReDevelopment-Multiplication Connection.  Additional training for ReDevelopment coaches is available in a tandem with the primary training sessions.

What will Project 6:15 cost?  The total cost for participation in the two-year Project 6:15 is $2400 per church.   That includes two assessments, six one-day training sessions, all training materials, coaching and even travel expenses for United Front personnel.  Training for coaches can be negotiated separately. There will be Urban Office grants available.
