Ryan Rush was born in 1979 in Salem, Arkansas and raised in Melbourne, in Izard County, Arkansas.  From childhood he was a member of the Church of Christ, but at the age of seventeen became a United Methodist. 

 

After graduating from Arkansas School for Mathematics and Sciences in 1997, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Central Arkansas Honors College in 2001, and a Master of Divinity degree from The Divinity School of Duke University in 2005. 

 

He served as tenth associate pastor of First United Methodist Church of Texarkana, Arkansas from 2005 to 2008, and since June 2008 has been the 49th pastor of First United Methodist Church of England.  He has been a full Oblate of St. Benedict since 2001, was ordained an Elder in full connection  in June 2008, and was married to Kim Reynolds Rush in September 2008. 

 

His interests include bicycling and playing games with friends.  He welcomes new friends who want to add him on Facebook or Myspace.
