Open hearts, open minds, open doors

Resurrection.  It’s the foundation of everything we believe.  But it’s not just something that happened to someone else, thousands of years ago.  It can happen here and now.  It is happening at First United Methodist Church.  Families are being strengthened.  Friendships are being cemented.  Here the young learn from the old, and the old are inspired by the young.  We’ve been here since 1890, so we’re rooted in the history of England – but we are a 21^st century Church doing ministry in the here and now.  

We’re committed to NURTURE:

·       Two separate nursery teams

·       Sunday school classes available for students

        from kindergarten through high school

·       A great adult Sunday school class

·       A brand new, cutting edge youth program

·       A talented and inviting choir

·       Three United Methodist Women circles

·       A Wednesday Bible study

 

We’re committed to OUTREACH:

·       We coordinate the Christ Corner Food Closet

         for our needy neighbors

·       We participate in Angel Tree ministries for needy children

·       We provide space for adult education classes

·       Our Neighborhood Ministry Teams reach out to our

         neighbors and let them know they are appreciated

 

We’re committed to WITNESS:

·        First Wednesday Night invitational dinners

·        Our members are very involved in community and school board events

·        We sponsor a local Cub Scout pack and Boy Scout troop

·        Weekly pastoral emails on a Bible Passage
