Facebook Suggestion for Christian Educators
Facebook Group Focus 2009: Media Resource Center member churches are invited to join the Facebook group FOCUS 2009. "Our goal
is to make people aware that there is an event sponsored by the United Methodist Church (UMC) for those in ministry for children,
and also to encourage discussion on children's issues in light of scripture, Wesleyan heritage, and the mission of the United Methodist
Church." * Posted January 7, 2009.

Logos Ministry Suggestion Christian Educators
Logos Ministry Heartfelt: If your church is not familiar with the Logos Ministry, we, here at the Media Resource Center, highly recommend
what this ministry is doing. Check out Logos Ministry and their November Newsletter on Prayer and Gratitude:
"Welcome to HEARTFELT, the new LOGOS Ministry e-letter. Designed for busy families who want to grow body, mind and spirit, and who
want support and encouragement. Each edition has information for parents and for children around a timely topic, and a
session of "Family 'round the Table" which includes a dinner theme and menu, activities for your family to do together, a Bible study,
and a framework for family prayers and worship. This month's edition is all about teaching children about prayer, helping children
develop an attitude of gratitude, and ways your Thanksgiving celebrations can build assets in children and youth. We'd love to hear
from you about your own family experiences, your ideas and suggestions for future issues, and your feedback! Send your comments topatjanssen@thelogosministry.org."

Different Voice Suggestion for Christian Educators
Different Voice: Here's a new website that should interest you. I am also receiving daily e-news. Today, Tim sent a list of
downloadable clips with great information about each site as to theology, ease of use, and more. It is very worthwhile information
– highly recommended.
You all know about progressive resources like Living the Questions and The Thoughtful Christian, but here's a
website you can recommend to churches who are looking for additional help with being a theologically-progressive voice in their community
and in their education ministries. Different Voice is an ecumenical website for Christian educators which provides daily email, blog,
articles, file sharing, product reviews, and more. All of the content is currently free, with a "set your own membership fee" policy.
Tim Gossett and Sally Hoelscher, two United Methodist Christian educators in Iowa, run this website. They will be adding a page
of links to resource centers soon.
