Through the use of 4 decision-making situations, video helps students: 1) understand they have the right to say "no" 2) learn specific techniques for saying "no" 3) stick to their own values in the face of outside pressures and 4) understand it's O.K. to change your mind.

VCV-306 LAST CHANCE DETECTIVE SERIES- (3rd/JH); Guide; Tyndale Family Video, 1994.

This video series introduces Biblical values to children through characters who have thoughts and feelings like their own. It features an adventuresome crew of kids on the lookout for mysteries to solve.

.1 MYSTERY LIGHTS OF NAVAJO MESA- (50 min.) In this exciting mystery story, the kids are drawn to puzzling situations involving a mysterious museum robbery and a strange, green, glowing object in the Navajo Mesa sky. The video highlights the decision of the main character, Mike, to follow what the Bible teaches about kindness and forgiveness in his friendship with Ben.

.2 LEGEND OF THE DESERT BIGFOOT- (53 min.) Old Eli Patterson claims he's seen Bigfoot in his back yard. The townsfolk think he's crazy, but the Last Chance Detectives are eager to solve the puzzle. VCV-309 MICHAEL THE VISITOR- (J/A); 27 min.; Clay Animation; Billy Budd, 1995.

The story is adapted from Leo Tolstoy's tale entitled Truths We Live By. Simon, a poor shoemaker, discovers Michael, a naked young man, crouched down beside the road. Simon covers him with his own coat and brings him home for food and shelter. Michael becomes Simon's invaluable assistant. In a surprise ending, Michael reveals his identity and explains the lessons he learned while living with Simon and his family.

Young Dylan Taylor saves a mutt named Sherman and meets the remarkable Dr. Whittaker (Whit). They set out to retrieve Whit's Imagination Station that allows kids to see historical events first-hand. The diabolical Faustus has stolen the Imagination Station for his own evil purposes. Dylan learns what is truly important in life in a battle with Faustus in which Dylan triumphs.

VCV-313 LITTLE DOGS ON THE PRAIRIE series- (K/E); 3 videos, 2-3 sessions ea.; 35 min.; No Guide; Cartoon Animation; Tommy Nelson - Christian Book Distributors, 2000.

This fun video series uses clever dialogue and cartoon animation to communicate values to children. Each session features a song and is based on a Scripture.

.1 PRIDE, PREJUDICE, FUDGE-

Ep. 1- STANZA BY ME- Hollister is glad to get some help in his telegraph office, even if it is from a snake! The entire Prairie Town gang learns an important lesson about prejudice.

Ep. 2- HAVE GUM, WILL TRAVEL- Scout rises to stardom when his bubbles become the biggest thing in town. Find out in this story about the danger of pride.

Ep. 3- HERE COMES DA GRUDGE- It's showdowns and hoe-downs when a misunderstanding causes Hollister and Gilroy to learn the folly of holding a grudge.

.2 A LOTTA LOVE AND A LITTLE OFF THE TOP-

Ep. 1- A FLIP, A TWIRL, A WAVE, AND A CURL- The Little Dogs try to impress the new beauty operator, Miss Kittey, by changing their hairstyles. It's a hair-raising story on the dangers of vanity. (Philippians 2:3-4)

Ep. 1- LYIN'- It's Sport's birthday and he wants something no one can get: an autographed picture of his hero, Tom Trailmix. (Proverbs 6:16-17)

Ep. 2 CHEATIN'- When old Miss Richardson and her mother finally become astronauts, Miss Kittey becomes a substitute teacher. Gilroy spends some time in the desert on a horse with no name, and Hollister gets an unlicensed appendectomy. All this leads to someone's learning a valuable lesson about cheating. (Proverbs 11:1)

She’s made some promises she can’t keep and it’s about to catch up with her. Hermie, Wormie, and their garden friends teach Flo the value of always telling the truth. In The Flood of Lies, a short cartoon, Hermie learns that telling the truth is not always easy, but always the right thing to do.
