Simon, a poor shoemaker, discovers Michael, a naked young man, crouched down beside the road. Simon covers him with his own coat and brings him home for food and shelter. Michael becomes Simon's invaluable assistant. In a surprise ending, Michael reveals his identity and explains the lessons he learned while living with Simon and his family. In The Flood of Lies, a short cartoon, Hermie learns that telling the truth is not always easy, but always the right thing to do.
