In this adventure of imagination, a shy girl of 13 discovers a new meaning for love on Valentine's Day. Through a very special book, she meets the 3rd-century martyr Valentine and his Christian friends. They show her what it means to love others as Jesus loves us.

Tells the story of the Maccabean revolt against the Greeks, who were forcing the people of Israel to bow down before Greek gods. The spirit and determination of the Maccabees live today in the celebration of Hanukkah.

VCQ-305 WINTER HOLIDAYS: ETHNIC TRADITIONS- (E); 20 min.; Guide; SVE, 1990.

This program portrays five American families as they celebrate winter holidays that are a part of our cultural and ethnic heritage: a Mexican Christmas featuring Las Posadas; Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights; Kwanzaa an African-American celebration; Chinese New Year; and a Polish Christmas. It is a wonderful way to foster understanding and appreciation of our nation's cultural diversity.

A magical musical in which toy animals come to life to give their owner a magical birthday party in Animal Park. Includes music, songs and dancing to many childhood favorite songs. A delightful and non-violent experience for children.

A.1 GERBERT: CREATED FOR GOOD WORKS- Gerbert learns the pleasure of choosing obedience.

A.2 GERBERT: LITTLE ONES TO HIM BELONG- Gerbert reminds his friends that God lovingly cares for all of His children. Reminds children that even the smallest of God's creations are important. See Gerbert story and tape called "In the Beginning" in AKO-13c.

A.3 GERBERT: GOD KNOWS MY FEELINGS- Gerbert learns that bad thoughts can make us feel terrible about ourselves, but that God knows all our thoughts and loves us anyway.

A.4 GERBERT: FOREVER FRIENDS- Gerbert is sad when he finds out that his best friend is moving. He learns that we have a friend in Jesus who will never leave us.

A.5 GERBERT: SAFE IN HIS ARMS- Gerbert inadvertently uses his own "wisdom" over that of his father when riding his scooter, but it doesn't work out too well. Video initiates discussion about how God's commands always serve to both protect and provide for us.

A.6 GERBERT: FORGIVE AND FORGET- Gerbert learns that when he turns his angry feelings over to God, God grants him the gift of self-control. Gerbert also learns not to place blame prematurely.

A.7 GERBERT: GERBERT'S FAVORITE BIBLE STORIES AND SONGS- Through the gift of music Gerbert discovers the world around him, expresses his hopes and fears, and expresses thankfulness to God. This collage of Bible stories and songs shows how good it is to sing praise to our God.

VCR-302 GERBERT: Series B (2) - 1990

B This series has been designed so that each video can be used in 5, 15, or 25 min. segments.

B.1 LOVING MY NEIGHBOR (Soaring Above Self-Centeredness).- While playing a game at his surprise birthday party, Gerbert has to choose whether to play fair and let others have the attention or to demand all the attention for himself.

B.2 LOST AND FOUND (Rejoicing in the Arms of the Good Shepherd). Gerbert is given a piggy bank and one shiny quarter. Because he doesn't put it in the bank, he soon loses it. When he finally finds his quarter, he is happy. Relates to the "Parable of the Lost Sheep".

B.3 THE CAT'S MEOW (A Lesson in God's Limitless Love).- Gerbert thinks his soon-to-arrive kitty is the "Cat's Meow". He is disappointed when the new kitty has no interest in him. Gerbert learns that disappointment is a part of life.

B.4 HOP TO IT (The Pleasures of Perseverance)- Gerbert is given a Pogo stick to learn to hop, but he has trouble. When he's about to give up, his friend Miles helps him out.

B.5 THE DOCTOR (Casting Your Cares Upon Christ)-

Gerbert is afraid because he has to go to the doctor. His fears are calmed by a kind, loving doctor.

B.6 SAVING TREASURES (Learning to Treasure God's Love)- Gerbert learns a lesson about being frugal with his money.

B.7 WEDDING BELL BLUES (Precious Promises for God's Child).- Gerbert is asked to be ring-bearer in his friend's wedding, but he begins to fear when Stu (another friend) tells him that everyone in a wedding gets married. He is later convinced that Stu was only tricking him.

B.8 GERBERT'S ALL-TIME FAVORITES (Bible stories and songs)- A collage of songs and Bible stories, this video will show "How good it is to sing praises to our God." Ps. 147:1

VCR-302 GERBERT: Series C (3) - 1990

C.1 WHY DO PEOPLE QUIT LIKING EACH OTHER (In Praise of Pursuing Love)- Gerbert is caught in the middle when the friendship of two of his best friends falls apart. He learns the meaning of true love.

C.2 OVERCOMING EVIL BY DOING GOOD (The Power of Simply Letting your Little Light Shine)- Gerbert is forced to choose between desired acceptance and doing right. Through his decision to do right, his friends are motivated to do the right thing also.

C.3 LISTENING IS LOVING (Caring Enough to be Quick to Listen).- No one wants to listen to Gerbert when he wants to tell about his prize-winning poster. He learns about being a good listener.

C.4 BEFORE MY FIRST DAY BEGAN (God's Gracious Gift of Full and Rich Adoption)- Gerbert and his friend Patrick learn that being adopted is special. They discuss adoption in the Bible.

C.5 BUT I REALLY DIDN'T DO IT! (Learning Obedience Through Our Suffering).- When Gerbert is wrongfully accused of cheating on a test, he learns to put on love rather than anger and bitterness.

C.6 DOING THE RIGHT THING (Learning to Let Love Be Genuine in Our Lives)- When Gerbert is given too much change, he is tempted to buy a much-desired art easel. He learns the consequences of taking what wasn't rightfully his.

VCR-305 CHRISTOPHER CHURCHMOUSE: Books on Video- (Pre/Pri); 2 parts/video; 16 min. ea.; Cartoon videostrip; Vistamedia, 1990.

Christopher and his friends learn important lessons about friendship, behavior, and values.

.1 THE WHITE TRAIL- When Christopher and his friend Freddy can't resist the goodies stored in the church kitchen, they learn a difficult lesson that stealing is wrong.

A SUNDAY SURPRISE- Christopher is shocked by the rude behavior of some children in church but he creates chaos himself when he tries to remove his sleeping cousin from the offering plate. Children learn how to behave in church.

.2 RAINY DAY RESCUE- Christopher has been warned about playing in the storm sewer. When Christopher and his cousin Ted are swept into the sewer, they learn why obedience is always best.

SAVED BY THE BELL- Tuffy the cat makes Christopher's life miserable. Christopher hears a S.S. teacher say that a "secret gift" can turn an enemy into a friend. His gift to Tuffy is a bell.

.3 A LOAD OF TROUBLE- To trick his cousin, Christopher Churchmouse replaces a wagon full of bread crumbs with sawdust. Cousin Sid catches him off guard with a surprise of his own.

THE POTLUCK SUPPER- Christopher hoards a big mound of cheese, but his selfish strategy backfires.

.4 A STICKY MYSTERY- At mouse school mysterious things keep happening to Christopher's friend. When the mystery is finally solved, Christopher & Freddie learn about jealousy. Based on James 3:15.

A SHORT TAIL- Christopher injures his own tail by freeing his cousin Ned from a trap. He learns that God cares most about what is on the inside. Based on I Samuel 16:7.

.5 A PACK OF LIES- Christopher lies to avoid an unpleasant chore and ends up in big trouble. The story teaches the truth of Col. 3:9.

THE SHINY RED SLED- Christopher quarrels with his cousin. Later his cousin needs help and Christopher must make a choice about forgiveness. Based on Colossians 3:13.

.6 A FLOOD OF FRIENDS- Christopher Churchmouse is lonely. Pouting on the church steps, he meets Freddie Fieldmouse and has a fun adventure helping Freddie's family. This story about friendship and hospitality is based on Proverbs 18:24.

THE TATTLETALE TONGUE- Christopher learns the foolishness of tattling and the wisdom of Matthew 18:15.
