.2 NOAH’S ARK features God’s call to Noah to build the great ark. God sets His rainbow in the sky, sealing the covenant with Noah and all future generations.

.9 JOSEPH’S TRIUMPH- Joseph becomes a member of the Pharaoh’s court by interpreting the Pharaoh’s dreams and warning of a famine in Egypt. Joseph forgives his brothers for their treachery and is reunited with his father.

.10 MOSES THE EGYPTIAN is the story of the rescue of the baby Moses by Pharaoh’s daughter who rears him as a prince in Egypt. When his true nationality is discovered, he is exiled into the desert.

.11 THE BURNING BUSH- Moses hears the call of Almighty God from a burning bush to lead the Israelites out of their bondage in Egypt.

.12 MOSES AND PHARAOH is the story of Moses’s attempt to convince Pharaoh to let the Hebrew people go from Egypt. Includes Pharaoh’s refusal, God’s sending of the plagues, and the first Passover.

.3 MOSES THE LAWGIVER- Ben Kingsley tells the miraculous story of how Moses receives God's commandments atop Mt. Sinai and leads the Israelites on their forty-year journey to the Promised Land. The majestic musical score by composer Lyle Mays captures the power of this sweeping epic.

.4 JONAH AND THE WHALE- Jason Robards tells the story of Jonah, who learns a lesson of forgiveness and obedience when he is swallowed by a whale . George Mgrdichian's virtuoso performance on the oud, one of the world's oldest instruments, provides a haunting backdrop to this beloved tale.

VCO-308 TESTAMENT - THE BIBLE IN ANIMATION- (E); 9 videos; 30 min. ea. No Guides; Vision Video, 1998. A variety of animation techniques are used to bring the best-loved Bible stories to life.

.1 CREATION AND THE FLOOD- As Noah and his family begin life in the ark, he tells the story of Adam and Eve, God, and the serpent in the Garden of Eden. Cel animation and paint-on-glass techniques are used.

.2 ABRAHAM- Model animation is used to tell the story of Abraham from his going out from Ur with his family, through Lot's experiences in Sodom. It includes the story of God's command to Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac.

.3 JOSEPH- Joseph's status as favorite son is ended when his brothers sell him into Egyptian slavery. He keeps his faith in God through suffering and betrayal and is rewarded with a high official office. He is reunited with his family when they come to Egypt seeking food. Model animation technique is used.

.4 MOSES- Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt to find the land of milk and honey. The video shows Moses from hunted young man to charismatic leader as he persuades the Israelites to have faith in God. The drawn animation technique is used.

.5 RUTH- The video tells the story in beautiful model animation of Ruth as she goes back to Bethlehem with Naomi. As she works in the field to feed herself and her mother-in-law, she is claimed eventually by Boaz, her Kinsman Redeemer.

.6 DANIEL- Done in animation of oil paint on cel, the video tells the life of Daniel in Babylonian captivity. When he was appointed governor and when he was in the lion's den, Daniel's unwavering faith and God's divine love helped him emerge victorious.

.7 JONAH- Jonah, a bad-tempered prophet who refuses to go to Nineveh to preach God's word, brings peril to a shipload of sailors. After a terrifying experience of being swallowed by a whale, he finally goes to, and is successful at, Nineveh. He is grumpy, but God helps him understand the meaning of mercy. Cel animation technique is used.

.8 ELIJAH- Elijah, shown as the sole, persecuted prophet of God, brings people to God and challenges Baal's prophets, invoking the wrath of Queen Jezebel. The story continues through his finding a successor to take up his mantle. It is done in drawn animation.

.9 DAVID AND SAUL- Power and humility are shown in the story of mighty King Saul and David, the humble shepherd boy. Saul hunts down David to kill him, but God protects David and leads him eventually to the throne of Israel. The drawn animation technique is used.

Sarah and Miguel learn the value of love and forgiveness in their own lives from the traditional story of Joseph.

VCO-310 COMMANDMENTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE- (J/JH); 6 videos, 10 Sessions, about 10 min. ea.; Guides; Ikonographics, 1998.

Using story, Scripture, reflection, and prayer, the series presents the Commandments as gifts that free us to love God, others, and ourselves more deeply. The Catholic numbering of the Commandments may differ from that of most Protestants.

.1 WE REMEMBER: THE 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD COMMANDMENTS- The video challenges the young people to discover ways to live the life of the first three Commandments by placing God first in their hearts, speaking the name of God with respect, and celebrating God in a special way one day of the week. (Catholic numbering).

.2 WE HONOR PARENTS: THE 4TH COMMAND-MENT- Children discern ways to live the life of the 4th Commandment by obeying and listening to people who help them grow and by helping others to grow.

.3 WE RESPECT LIFE: THE 5TH COMMAND-MENT- The video challenges the students to respect and care for God's gift of life in ourselves and others.

.4 WE ARE FAITHFUL: THE 6TH AND 9TH COMMANDMENTS- The video challenges children to discover the way to live the life of the 6th Commandment, "You Shall Not Commit Adultery," by respecting God's call of husband and wife to live faithfully in marriage. Through the 9th Commandment, "You shall not covet your neighbor's wife," the children learn to respect the promises of others and to be loyal to family.

.5 WE RESPECT THE PROPERTY OF OTHERS: THE 7TH AND 10 COMMANDMENTS- The video helps young people to discover the relationship between "Do not steal" and "Do not covet your neighbor's property." It challenges them to live the commandment life by respecting and protecting the rights and property of others, by not wanting or taking what belongs to others, and by working to help people get what they need in order to live.

.6 WE SPEAK THE TRUTH: THE 8TH COMMAND-MENT- The video shows students that by telling the truth, respecting the right that all people have to their good name, and trusting the word of others, they are living the life of the 8th Commandment, "You shall not bear false witness."
