The greeting/fellowship
song we sang together during the worship hour last month begins with the
words, “I’m so glad to be part of the family of God.” Those
words are certainly appropriate for your new pastor to share with you, the
family of God at Elm Mott UMC. I have
truly been blessed as I visit with and get to know each person; those who
were here at the get-acquainted dinner, those who have been faithfully here
on Sunday mornings, those who have been present at meetings, and those with
whom I have visited who are unable to be active. I am learning about the
inner workings and structure of Elm Mott church as well. It is wonderful to listen,
observe and participate with the committees and sub-committees as they meet
and plan for the future of the Elm Mott UMC church family and it’s role
in this community. I hope you will
read the calendar of events on pages 1 and 2 of this newsletter, and as you
are able, commit to being a part of the exciting activities that are taking place in the
life of I am excited and am growing
in anticipation, knowing that this is a wonderful time for our church family to
be a part of these and other activities for the remainder of this year.
Activities that will inspire and motivate us toward greater heights are being
planned for the coming calendar year as well. I hope you too are getting
excited and are encouraged as we work together in the name of the Lord, to
his glory. My husband, Jim and I want
to thank you for your warm, welcoming spirit. We can truthfully say,
“I’m so glad to be part of the family of God” at In Christ, Your Pastor,
