David Reynolds, Pastor

minister

Pastor David Reynolds is an ordained elder in the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was first ordained while a student at Drew University Theological School in Madison, New Jersey in 1979. He has been serving churches full-time since 1980. David was appointed to Elkton United Methodist Church in June 1992.

The heart of David's ministry in the church is found in the weekly rhythm of worship. David, with the help of a very able music staff, seeks to plan each worship service so that through experiencing the Word of God in both preaching and music, the transforming good news of God's presence among us, and love for all in Jesus Christ is proclaimed. Our worship incorporates not only the more "traditional" music of organ and piano, but also the "contemporary" sounds of flute, acoustic guitar, and bodhran (a traditional Irish drum). David also teaches an on-going Bible study on Wednesday nights called Loaves & Fishes. It begins each Wednesday with a covered-dish fellowship supper shared by the participants, and then concludes with the Bible study.

David loves Elkton UMC and the Elkton community and invites everyone to become involved in the on-going life of study, care, mission, prayer and worship of this church. He feels this community of faith is a wonderful witness to the love of Christ.
