United Methodist Women Annual Meeting
The 2008 Annual Meeting of the Elgin District United Methodist Women was held on Saturday, September 27, at the McHenry First United Methodist Church. Former NIC UMCOR Disaster Coordinator, George Bush, was the featured speaker. George motivated the group to consider the question, "WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR?"
Proceedings of the day included a Memorial Service, 2009 Pledge Service, business matters, election and installation of 2009 officers, recognition of retiring officers, Reading Program Awards, Mission Today Awards and the Recognition of 4 & 5 Star Units for 2007.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion was shared with Rev. Gary Waters, pastor of FUMC McHenry, as celebrant.
The Praise of Team of FUMC guided the worship with music. June Neumann conducted the officer installation.
Resources were abundant and available for review and purchase. The day concluded with a lovely luncheon.
