Prayer Shawl Ministries

The Prayer Shawl Ministry of Libertyville United Methodist Church is sponsored by the Priscilla Circle. The ministry began in early 2007. Seven to eight circle members participate in knitting and crocheting the shawls in their homes.
Prayer are provided to be offered prior to and during the knitting process. The finished shawls are then brought to circle meetings and blessed by the group. As we have requests, we again bless the shawls with the names of the persons who will receive them. Shawls are delivered by friends who request them, the UMC Visitation committee as well as circle members.
To date, 25 shawls have been given. We keep the names of those who receive shawls and continue to pray for them and their families.
