Prayer Shawl Ministries

Cary United Methodist Church

The Prayer Shawl Ministry of the Cary United Methodist Church combines prayer with creation. A shawl may be a knit or crochet pattern, usually including a trio of stitches or rows.

Prayer is offered for the recipient in all stages of creation of this outward symbol of our inner love. Shawls are blessed by the people of the Cary UMC before being given away.

The group gathers together once a month on the 3rd Sunday at 9:45 AM in the church library. We pray, share ideas work on our shawls, and bless our creations. All are welcome to join the group. We also work on our shawls at home, praying as we work our yarn.

The ministry began in September 2007. We invite all to pray for our ministry or donate yarn or money.
