Bible Sunday

Mark your calendars; Bible Sunday will be November 22nd. This is the day the 2nd graders will receive their very own Bibles during the church service. This is a very exciting day for our 2nd graders.

The Ben Fund

Ben Stowell was a 9 year old boy that lost his battle with cancer on October 12th, 2009. Ben and his family courageously fought his cancer for 3 years, they remained optimistic and spiritual throughout their battle. They are an amazing family, our thoughts and prayers are with them. After the medical bills are paid off, the money will roll over into a foundation to support other families battling pediatric cancer.

Pet Food Drive

We will hold a pet food drive in January. Families are having to give up their pets because they can't afford them. We will donate half the food that we collect to food pantries, and the other half to animal shelters. This will be a hands-on mission so the younger children can visualize helping others.

Sunday School

The children and youth of our church are called to know and share God's Unconditional Love.

Children playing in the Infant room

We teach the power of God's Love in many ways, through, time in Sunday School class, the sanctuary and music. In class, youth participate a variety of activities such as reading the Bible, hands on activities and discussions. During sanctuary time, youth are exposed to the traditions of the worship service and become familiar with our special Pastors Henry and Joe who give a children's message. The 15 Minutes of Music teaches the fun-to-sing children Bible songs to the pre-school through 4th graders. Our older youth participate in a Pop And Praise Music Group twice a month, where they sing contemporary, up beat religious music. Through these many activities we hope to reach each of our youth and let them know how special they are and how much God Loves them!

Sunday School students doing arts and crafts

Our Sunday School classes meet 9:30 to 10:30, Sunday mornings, at the same time as the church service. The 12 Sunday School classes, a class for each from age three through Senior High (grades 9th through 12th are combined), are staffed throughout the school year with a total of 90 church volunteers, most part - time so they too have time in the sanctuary. Having many different teachers in the classroom provides our youth to learn from a variety of church members, each with their own gifts to give.

Sunday School students making advent wreaths

Special Sunday School events are held throughout the year to emphasize a holiday or church event, such as: Bible Sunday for second graders, Advent Wreath making, Advent Rock program, Pretzel Sunday, 6th Grade Communion Day, 8th grade Confirmation, The Holy Week Program and Children's Day.

Through our many mission projects we teach our youth they can, and do make a difference locally and in our world! Our local mission projects continue to be a big part of our Sunday School mission program.

A child can start Sunday School anytime throughout the year, no registration is needed. Being a community church new children often know other children in their Sunday School class through sports, school etc. This makes the transition easier. If desired we have siblings together in a class until they want to go to their own Sunday School class. We want Sunday School to be an enjoyable place for our children and youth.
