STEWARDSHIP MINISTRY
Primary Task
To help people understand the meaning of Christian Stewardship and the need to practice it in all of life.
Responsibilities of the Committee
1. To develop and implement the annual Stewardship Emphasis to provide financial support
for the church’s mission and ministry.
2. To understand the goals and plans of the congregation and how faithful stewardship can
extend these goals.
3. To present opportunities for stewardship to the congregation.
4. To help members of the congregation grow into more faithful disciples through the practice
of Christian Stewardship.
5. To be accountable to the Charge Conference through the Church Council.
Responsibilities of the Chairperson
1. To guide the work of the committee through the year, scheduling and convening the
meetings, and planning the agendas.
2. To report the results of the Stewardship Emphasis to the Finance Committee so that they
can plan the church budget.
3. To ensure that the congregation and pastor are informed about the work of the committee.
4. To participate in the Finance Committee.
5. To participate fully in the Church Council.
6. To be accountable to the Charge Conference through the Church Council.
7. To submit annual budget requests to the Finance Committee.
8. To submit an annual report of the committee’s work.
