MEMBER CARE MINISTRY
Primary Task
To provide caring contact and visitation for members of the congregation who are elderly, ill, in nursing homes or otherwise homebound.
Responsibilities of the Committee
1. To work with the Minister of Visitation to develop and maintain a program of home visitation.
2. To make regular visits with persons in need of caring ministry.
3. To help the congregation live faithfully as a caring community.
4. To help strengthen the ties between the congregation and homebound members.
5. To coordinate appropriate help and support for homebound members.
6. To be accountable to the Charge Conference through the Church Council.
Responsibilities of the Chairperson
1. To guide the work of the committee through the year, scheduling and convening the meetings, and planning the agendas.
2. To ensure that the pastor is informed about the work of the committee.
3. To work effectively with the Minister of Visitation and the Pastor.
4. To keep accurate records of persons visited.
5. To participate fully in the Church Council.
6. To be accountable to the Charge Conference through the Church Council.
7. To submit annual budget requests to the Finance Committee.
8. To submit an annual report of the committee’s work.
