THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Primary Task
To supervise and maintain all property and invested funds belonging to the congregation so that the ministry of the church can be effective.
Responsibilities
1. To oversee, and maintain all property and report on its condition to the Church Council and Charge Conference.
2. To receive and administer all gifts and bequests.
3. To make sure that all funds are properly invested.
4. To ensure that the Articles of Incorporation are up to date.
5. To be responsible, in consultation with the pastor, for the use of the church building and grounds.
6. To make sure that all property is insured.
7. To submit annual maintenance budgets to the Finance Committee.
8. To be accountable to the Charge Conference and the Church Council.
9. To elect a President, Vice-president, Treasurer, and Secretary.
Responsibilities of the President
1. To plan the agenda, convene the meeting, and follow up on action items.
2. To become knowledgeable about Disciplinary and legal requirements relating to church property.
3. To consult regularly with the Pastor about property matters.
4. To participate fully in the Church Council.
5. To make sure that annual reports are properly submitted.
6. To appoint a Nominating Committee to assure that the officers of the Board are elected and leadership continuity is maintained.
