Holiday Fundraisers
THANKSGIVING SERVICE
This year we are joining with the McKeesport Cluster churches with a Thanksgiving service on Sunday, November 22 at 7 p.m. at the Christy Park UM Church in Christy Park. Let us join together to give our thanks to the Lord.
CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS
Orders are being taken, now, for Christmas Poinsettias from Martin’s Floral. Red will be the available color at a cost of $7.00 per plant. You may place your order with the sheet that is in the weekly bulletin or call the church office.
Deadline to order poinsettias is Sunday, November 29.
CHRISTMAS COVERED DISH DINNER
There will be a CHRISTMAS COVERED DISH DINNER on Sunday December 13, 2009. Come and join us. Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin boards, or call the church office so we know how many are coming.
HANGING OF THE GREENS
On Saturday, November 28 at 9:00 AM we will have our annual hanging of the greens at the church. If you are able to help, we hope to see you there.
ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS SERVICES
November 29
This will be the first Sunday in Advent as we begin our preparation toward Christmas Eve.
December 6
We will begin the first Sunday in December with Communion.
December 13
Following the worship service we will have our traditional Christmas covered dish dinner in the fellowship hall.
December 20
We will celebrate the fourth Sunday in Advent.
December 24
Our candlelight Christmas Eve Service will be at 7:30 p.m.
December 26
We will continue to celebrate Christmas with a Christmas Hymn Sing at worship time.
HOLIDAY FUNDRAISERS
12 oz. scented jar candles
The organ Task Force is selling scented jar candles as we did last year. They cost $12.00 each and we make a profit of $3.00 on each candle sold. These make great gifts for Christmas or to give your home the warm holiday aromas that we associate with the Christmas season.

These candles are a soy mix. They burn a long time and burn clean. Contact Pat Kraeuter, Gail Kennedy, Patty Salvador or Robin Henry to place your order. The sale ends Sunday, November 29, so we can get them back for Christmas.
ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS
Because of the success of our sale last year, we are selling them again. The price will remain the same…$20 per book. As it was last year, the first 50 books give us a profit of $4 per book. The profit of 51+ books will be $10 per book or 50%. The books are here, now, and sales have begun so we can beat the competition in the area. The books will also be available at our craft show. This year the book is Pittsburgh Metropolitan, which is the Pittsburgh & Pittsburgh East editions combined.
PUMPKIN ROLLS Sale ends December 6
Pumpkin rolls are coming again! We are holding our 2nd annual sale for our church, because it was such a success. Even after the organ is paid, there are still bills that need paid in the church; so the plan is to continue this project to help with church expenses. We need volunteers to help with this endeavor.
The cost is $10.00 with nuts and $8.00 without nuts.
