Our Pastor
Michael Rowe attended Highlawn Methodist Church when
he received his call to ministry. Michael was participating in a
bonfire worship service as a camper at Asbury Woods Church Camp when he
came forward and dedicated himself to work for the Lord.
Michael knew that full time ministry
was his calling at 19 but felt he was too young to pastor a church.
He attended Marshall University for a year and then did various jobs for
several years.
Michael has been very involved in
his home church throughout his life. He was a member of United Methodist
Youth Fellowship, United Methodist Men, Lay Speaker and served on various
committees. He and his wife, Kara, began a regular contemporary worship
service. In the past year Michael has completed the Local Pastor
Licensing School, preached often in his home church and planned for
the time he would receive his first appointment.
Michael and Kara met at church.
Her father, the Reverend Casey Stinespring, was Michael's pastor for several
years. Kara and Michael worked together in committees and groups
in the church as well as church camp. They are a deeply devoted couple.
Kara enthusiastically participates in Michael's ministry.
Michael will resume studies at Marshall
University probably specializing in education. He feels that an education
specialty will be helpful in his ministry.
Michael is committed to visiting his
church members and others. If you would like a visit, feel free to
call Michael at the church or clock on his email address to contact him
by email.
