Dr. Keller signing "God" during worship.

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ministry of the Illinois Great Rivers Annual Conference works to help churches become accessible to those who are deaf and hard of hearing so that they may be exposed to the gospel and be better aware of God's love.

In helping reach deaf with the gospel the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ministry is able to again offer sign language camp to deaf persons for free because of a grant that was received.  Rev. Joo Kang will be in charge of deaf attending camp.  Contact Dr. Keller for more information about this.

Sign Language Camp is also for hearing who would like to learn or improve sign language skills.  Attending the annual sign language camp is a way in which hearing can learn to communicate with deaf in a fun environment.  Classes will be taught by Dr. Keller, interpreters and deaf.

In 2004 we will again have deaf and hearing combined in our camp with Bible Studies be lead in sign by Rev. Kang.  Deaf and hearing will be able to interact during the camp during many activities, Bible studies, discussions, meal time and free time -- which includes swimming, volleyball, basketball and rock climbing.

Plan on improving your signing ability and join the fun.

For more information, contact Dr. Keller at 309-353-5792 (voice and TTY) or e-mail him at ckeller@mtco.com
