Insurance For the Contents of the Parsonage

The local church shall provide insurance on a church owned parsonage as part of their broad coverage for church buildings. You must, however secure a "Contents Policy" for your personal property and for protection for those things you may be liable for in case you are sued.

This insurance is similar to the "Homeowners Policy" that those who own their own homes buy. In fact, some insurance companies call this policy a "Homeowners Policy" even though it is for renters, or people who live in parsonages. Other companies will call it a "Contents Policy." What ever the insurance company calls this policy, you can not afford to be without it.

Please note that if you have items of unique value such as paintings, furs, jewlrey, etc, you will need to have a special rider to your policy to cover these items.

The "Contents Policy" is transferable from parsonage to parsonage. It only needs to be renewed on its anniversary date with your insurer.
