A unit will receive a certificate of achievement upon completion of one of the following categories between September 1, 2008 and August 31, 2009.

• Units completing any 14 objectives will be classified "Bronze" units.
• Those completing 15-21 objectives will be "Silver" units.
• Those completing 22-28 objectives will be "Gold" units.

Certificates will show each unit's designation.

Check only those in which your unit participated.

____1. Unit made and met its Pledge to Mission.

____2. Attained the goal of a 5 Star Unit by contributing to all five channels of undesignated giving: Pledge to Mission, Special Mission Recognition, Gift in Memory, Gift to Mission, and World Thank Offering.

____3. Received into your unit at least one new member from among women who have joined your church in the current year.

____4. Received into your unit at least one new member not included in #3 above.

____5. Re-issued UMW membership cards to ALL members if there was a change of unit president.

____6. Observed a United Methodist Women's Sunday in your church.

____7. Had a combined meeting with another UMW unit.

____8. Participated locally in a retreat, prayer vigil or Bible study.

____18. Used the Prayer Calendar in the unit regularly to pray for persons in mission and for our mission work. Order from Mission Resource Center, Stock #M3009, $11.00.

____19. Each unit, circle or subgroup included a Response Moment where an item from Response magazine was lifted up as a way to tell the mission story. New World Outlook magazine provides another good way to tell the mission story. ____21. Participated in a workshop, seminar or book study related to social concerns and issues that will stimulate and enrich the total community.

____23. The unit implemented the Charter for Racial Justice Policies in at least one way during the year. Possibilities are:

____25. Had a United Methodist Woman present a mission program for United Methodist Youth Fellowship or a children's church school class.

____26. The unit co-sponsored, with the local church, a Children's Sabbath. This is a worship service highlighting the needs of children.
