Dove of the Desert is blessed to have a wealth of musical talent in its midst. From the grass roots sound of the folk group to the majestic voice of the Celebration Singers to the upbeat, contemporary sound of the Praise Team, to the diverse array of vocal and instrumental talent of individuals in the congregation, the music at Dove enriches the worship experience for all ages.

ADULTS

Celebration Singers

Performing a wide variety of traditional, sacred, contemporary and gospel music, the Celebration Singers mixed chorus brings its majestic voice to the 11:00 a.m. worship service every Sunday. Dove Notes
Director: Greg Ramsey -

Dove Notes is a women’s chorus that brings beautiful music to the 8:00 a.m. worship service every Sunday. The chorus performs a variety of musical styles, from traditional and sacred to contemporary and gospel. The group rehearses on Monday evenings in the sanctuary from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Wings of Praise
Praise Team Leader: Ginger Worden -

The Wings of Praise leads the congregation in praising God with upbeat, contemporary Christian music every Sunday at the 9:30 a.m. worship service. The group also performs outside Dove at contemporary Christian music festivals. Weekly rehearsals are held Thursday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Folk Group
Leaders: Grant and Karen Freeland

The Folk Group performs a variety of good ol’ down home folk music on the second Sunday of the month at the 8:00 a.m. worship service. The group practices Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.

Dove Bells and Novice Bells
Leader: Brent Fike

Dove's handbell choirs ring out the praise! All are welcome to join regardless of age or experience. The Dove Bells choir meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Novice Bells, our beginner group, meets on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.

YOUTH

Crooked Halos - A Youth Musical Ministry

The Crooked Halos choirs offer our junior and senior high youth opportunities for fellowship, spiritual growth, development in the fine arts, and fun! The program consists of several groups, and focuses on four components:

Performance – Musical performances both at and outside Dove.
Mission Work – Providing opportunities for community service and outreach.
Devotions – Helping to nurture a personal relationship with God.
Recreation – We have fun!

Halos Youth Choir

The Halos Youth Choir, for grades 7 - 12, performs contemporary Christian music, as well as sharing God's work through various community performances and volunteer mission work. Rehearsals are on Sundays from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Halos Honor Choir

The Halos Honor Choir, for senior high schoolers, performs contemporary Christian music, as well as sharing God's work through various community performances and volunteer mission work. Rehearsals are on Sundays from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Halos Chamber Choir

The Halos Chamber Choir, an advanced women’s ensemble, for high schoolers, performs Christian music, as well as sharing God’s work through various community performances and volunteer mission work. Rehearsals are on Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. and Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. (Make-up rehearsal time is on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m.)

Dove Youth Community Concert Band

The Dove Youth Community Concert Band features brass, woodwinds and percussion in a mix of traditional and contemporary band literature. The band performs 5 to 8 times during the season at Dove of the Desert as well as other venues across the Valley. Rehearsals are every Sunday from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on the Dove campus in Building D Room 15/16. No audition necessary. The ensemble is open to all youth grades 7 – 12.

Dove Youth Community Jazz Ensemble
Director: Michael Warner -

The Dove Youth Community Jazz Ensemble performs a mixture of traditional and contemporary jazz ensemble literature. On occasion a jazz combo is employed to give youth more experience in the jazz medium. The band performs at 4 to 6 events during the season at Dove as well as other venues across the Valley. Rehearsals are every Sunday from 7:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on the Dove campus in Building D Room 15/16. No audition necessary. The ensemble is open to all youth grades 7-12.

CHILDREN

Dove’s energetic children’s choirs offer children the opportunity to grow both musically and spiritually, connect with other Dove children, and bless the congregation with their song.

Cherub Choir
Leaders: Jeni Finkle and Kristen Flores

Dove’s precious children from age 3 through Kindergarten form the Cherub Choir, which performs once a month at various worship services. The choir practices Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. in Room 6.

Kings Kids
Leader: Stephanie Howard

For children in 1st through 3rd grades, the animated Kings Kids choir performs once a month at various worship services. The choir practices Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Room 8.

Rockin Doves
Leader: Karen Freeland

Children in the 4th through 6th grade choir share their uplifting musical voices at various worship services. The choir practices Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Room 10.
