What do I wear to church?
Most people who attend Dove of the Desert dress casually.
At any given worship service there usually will be someone
in a suit or dress and someone else in shorts. Most people
dress somewhere in between. We encourage you to “come
as you are.” We think God cares more about your heart
than your taste in clothing.
What service is best for me?
Only you can decide what worship style best helps you enter
into a spirit of worship. We encourage you to try a different
service if the one you attended didn't “fit.” Each
of our worship services is different. If you like a smaller,
traditional worship experience you may be most comfortable
at the 8:00 a.m. Sunday service.
If you are more comfortable rock ‘n rollin’ with
a crowd try 9:30 Sunday morning. If you want a larger, more
traditional worship experience attend Sunday morning at 11:00.
Children are always welcome in worship.
Will you baptize my child?
When we baptize children in the United Methodist Church
we ask the community present to commit to helping raise that
child in the Christian faith. We find it difficult to keep
that promise if we don’t know you or your family.
Therefore, we only baptize people who are part of our church
family. You don’t have to be a member of Dove, but
you must regularly attend worship and participate in our
congregational life before we feel like we can make the commitment
necessary in baptism.
Can I get married in your church?
Because of our close proximity to Arrowhead Country Club
we are frequently asked to perform and/or host marriage ceremonies.
You may rent our facility for your wedding. You may bring
your own clergy person, or contact one of the retired pastors
in our congregation in order to contract for their services.
Please
contact Sandy Kreiss -
or the church office for more information.
