Acolytes
Contact: Pastor Ruth

The word acolyte is taken from an ancient Greek word that meant companion, attendant or helper. The acolytes’ role in our worship services is to light the altar candles to symbolize that God is there with us. A lighted candle reminds the congregation that God is the light of the world. Christ is both human and divine, as is represented by the two candles. Children in the 3rd through 6th grades may be acolytes, with new terms beginning each July.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is a popular week-long experience that allows preschool and elementary age children to explore their identities as masterpieces of God’s creation in an art-themed setting. Held annually, usually in June.
