Want to Make a Difference? There are many opportunities to serve at Dove. Click here for a summary of the many ways you can get involved. Here is a sampling of some of our current volunteer needs:
Join the Lunch Bunch at noon Thursday, July 3rd, at P.F. Chang’s 16170 N. 83rd Ave. (South of Bell). For reservations or information call Nancy.
Summer Sunday School: Begins Sunday, July 13 for age 3 through grade 3.
Family Movie Night: Saturday, July 19 at 6:00 pm Evan Almighty (PG) Bring a dessert to share!
UMOM Back-to-School Clothing Drive : Dove’s annual UMOM back-to-school clothing drive is in progress. Be sure to stop by the able in the Narthex today and pick-up a name (or two)! Having a new outfit and a pair of shoes, will be a positive way to start the new school year.
Justa Center July Wish List: Paper towels, coffee, sugar, creamer, shoelaces, ibuprofen, aspirin, acetaminophen, foot powder. Please place in the “ Justa Center Basket”!
Youth Volleyball Tournament: Saturday, August 2 at Water World in Glendale! Two sand volleyball courts for tournament play, all-day water play, and an all-you-can-eat lunch with unlimited soft drinks for only $20.00 per person. Join us for this day of fun, even if you’re not in the volleyball league! Brochures are on the youth bulletin board. Registration form and money are due no later than July 12. Late registration cost is $30.00 per pers on. For additional information please contact Kelli New.
Women’s Retreat: Mark your calendar for Dove’s fourth annual Women’s Retreat, scheduled for November 14 & 15, 2008 at Spirit in the Desert Conference Center in Carefree. Watch these announcements for details as they become available.
Name Tag Holder: Dove has a new name tag holder in the Narthex, where you can leave your name tag and pick it up the next Sunday. If you would like a name tag, please place a request in the offering plate.
Sound Board Operators Desperately Needed: We will teach you how to operate the sound board. Volunteer just one Sunday a month. Volunteers are needed for all services, but especially for the 8:00 a.m. service. To volunteer call Grant 602-978-3274.
Water for Homeless Teens: It’s hot! Dove is collecting individual size bottles of water through October for Tumbleweed, an outreach for homeless teens. Please bring the water to Dove. Questions? Contact Diana Baldwin.
Looking for Acolytes: Children from 3rd Grade and up are welcome to sign up for the upcoming year. The new season begins in August. Please call the church office if you are interested. Returning acolytes must call to reaffirm their commitment to this ministry.
Dove Camping: Dove’s next family camping trip will be July 25-27, at Woods Canyon Lake on the Mogollon Rim. For more information visit www.dovecamping.com.
DYF Opening Day: To start our Grand Slam Home Run year at DYF, we’ll meet Saturday, August 23 at 10:00 a.m. for games and lunch – then off to Chase Field for the Diamondbacks Game! Tickets $14.50 each. Money due by August 1. All youth in 7 th through 12 th grades are invited!
Breakfast Club: Meets every Monday at 8:00 a.m. at Cracker Barrel Restaurant, 84th Avenue south of Bell.
Tuesday at 10: Meets every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. for devotion, help with mailings, and various chores at Dove. All are welcome!
Morning for Moms: Special events this going on this summer. Please pick up a flyer from the Welcome Wagon. Weekly meetings will resume in the fall.
