Pastor: Reverend David S. Williams
David was appointed to First United Methodist
Church in De Queen on
November 15, 2007. He also serves the good people of Gillham United
Methodist Church.
Prior, David served as Associate Pastor at Little Rock’s
historic First United Methodist
Church since July of
2005. David has served at the Gravette/Sulphur Springs United Methodist
Churches, as well. He enjoys finding space and solitude with God in prayer,
searching the Scriptures, experiencing community in the presence of others,
and sharing God’s word. David and Rebecca have three children: Caleb, Joshua
and Hannah. When David is not at home with the family, he is either visiting
with a member in the church, reading a good book, on the golf course, on the

Music Director: Mike Cluts
Michael
Cluts has been the Music Director of De Queen First
United Methodist
Church for the past
twenty years. His responsibilities include directing the Chancel Choir,
the Festival Choir (grades 4-6) and the hand bell Choir. In the past,
he has also directed youth choirs and hand bell ensembles. Michael is
married and has two grown daughters. He has a master’s degree in
Counseling Psychology and serves as the director at De Queen Clinic of
Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Center, Inc. Music has
always been an important part of his life. Prior to coming to FUMC, he
led a contemporary worship service at an Episcopalian church and was active
in musical theater productions. At the current time, he is learning to
play his grandmother’s accordion and also attends Southern Gospel singing
conventions throughout the tri-state area.
Organist:
Cathy Seal
Cathy Moore
Seal is married to Billy Seal and has two children. They have lived in De
Queen for 25 years. Their daughter, Katie Seal, is an accountant who lives in
North Little Rock, AR. Their son, Daniel, will finish his
degree in land surveying in December 2008 and will be marrying and residing
in De Queen after finishing school.
Cathy
has a B.S. Degree in Education with a minor in music, specializing in piano
and organ, and a Master of Education in Instructional Technology and Library
Science. She has taught school for 27
years and 24 of those have been in De Queen. She has been the organist at the
De Queen First United
Methodist Church
for 25 years and has accompanied the children’s choirs for the majority of
that time. She has helped with
vacation bible school music and classes each year and with the Kid’s of the
King Wednesday afternoon program since its beginning. Cathy is also very
active in the United Methodist Women’s organization and with the Young Adults
Sunday School class.
