Prayer of the Month February, 2006

Pastor’s Note:Winter is nearing its end. Days are getting longer and the jonquils and daffodils are ready to bloom. This is a time when all of creation seems to be gathering energy to burst forth into a new season of activity. We too, anticipate the days of spring and the life they bring to our everyday activities—whether at work or play.

Creator of all things, we marvel at the world you have made for us. As we emerge from the winter months, we give you thanks for their respite and refuge. Now as we look to the coming month we anticipate the return of life to the world around us. We ask that you revive our hearts and souls—that the sleepy darkness of winter be melted away in the lengthening days. Let your Spirit come upon all of us with the excitement of spring. Lead us and empower us to live abundantly—not so much in wealth and health, rather in love with you and with our neighbor. –Amen.
