The Reverend Tony Hoefner was appointed in June, 2003 to serve as
pastor of First United Methodist Church, DeKalb, TX and Hubbard Chapel United
Methodist Church near DeKalb, TX. The parsonage family also includes Tony's wife Martha,
their two daughters, Corynne and Amber, and their pets, two cats and a dog.
Martha is active in the church, singing in the choir and partipating in various groups. She especially likes to visit members of the congregation with Tony. Corynne likes some sports (she does well in powerlifting ), and she is presently attending Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, TX. Amber likes track best. Both girls do quite well in school. Camping is a favorite family activity.
Tony grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from high school in 1974, served in the U.S. Marines from '74-'78, and graduated with an AAES from Tarrant County Jr. College in 1983. He graduated from UT Arlington with a BSEE in 1987, and worked as an electrical engineer until answering a call to ordained ministry in 1995. He graduated from Brite Divinity School with a Master of Divinity degree in 1999.
From 1995-1999 Tony served at Good Springs and Bethel UMC's near Henderson, and from 1999-2003 he pastored White Oak UMC. His strengths in ministry are preaching, nurturing, and pastoral care.
