DeBows Sunday School & Adult Bible Study

Sunday School

Children are a very big part of DeBows UMC.  This is reflected in DeBows Sunday School, which covers Nursery through Junior High School.  The classes cover standard course material from Cokesbury and Cook and make a concerted effort to allow the children to be active in the life of the church.  The children present various programs during the year and each Sunday the Worship Service contains a children’s sermon and a nursery is provided so parents can stay for church.

Adult Bible Classes

DeBows has active Adult Bible Classes which have in depth discussions of the Word and how it relates to our everyday life.  Class members are encouraged to ask questions and present their view points, in a round table format, which enhances the understanding of all present. We currently have two separate classes on Sunday morning as well as occasional Tuesday night classes on special topics.  Using the Bible as our primary source, we use various structured class materials as well as information presented by individuals from their own research.  The main goal is to better understand scripture so we may apply the Word to our lives and ultimately become better Christians.
