Our Church Reaches Out to the Community

Food Pantry

The Daleville United Methodist Church operates a sustaining food pantry. This means there are several families in our community that can rely upon us for a portion of their food on an ongoing basis. In addition, we invite these families to be a part of our congregation without regard for the things they may not have. We want everyone to feel welcome at God's house.

Ken and Deb Vance

Ken and Deb are missionaries to the country formerly known as Zaire, and now known as the People's Republic of the Congo. Ken is a pilot and flies his plane in support of the missionary activity being conducted in the country by the United Methodist and other churches. Ken flies emergency medical supplies from where ever they are to where ever they are needed. Ken has had to evacuate his compoud because of the recent unrest, but will be returning as soon as it is safe to do so. Our church supports Ken's ministry with our financial gifts, and Ken has spoken to us when he has been back in the United States about his appreciation and to share the needs of this impoverished nation.

UMCOR

UMCOR is the United Methodist Committee on Relief, and is the rapid response arm of the United Methodist Church. Where ever there is human tragedy or natural disaster, UMCOR is probably all ready on site providing relief before we even hear about the situation. This is only possible by the faithful giving of our church and others like us around the world. UMCOR's ministries: aiding refugees, providing relief in disaster areas, and confronting the challenge of world hunger and poverty. UMCOR is helping to heal the hurts of humanity in more than 100 countries.
