WELCOME MESSAGE

The Central Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church, and the New Cumberland District have chartered the Cumberland Charge to proclaim the gospel in the rural area on the eastern edges of  Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

The Cumberland United Methodist Charge is a two-point charge comprised of the Hickorytown and Letort United Methodist Churches. These two congregations have served the outlying eastern rural communities since the late 1800's.

Our Mission

In and through these vital congregations, the Holy Spirit is working to reach out into the community and world that God's Word and fellowship are shared in this earthly kingdom.

Our Vision

We believe and affirm that God has called us to reach out to persons from all walks of life, especially those in our community who are unchurched. We will serve as a beacon for ministry in the name of Jesus Christ, carrying forth the message of the Gospel to all who will have ears to listen. To accomplish this ministry we will empower each individual to discover and use his or her God-given talents and resources to meet the ever growing and diverse needs of our community and our world.
